Job Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Implementation Specialist to lead Komprise deployments across our enterprise customer base. This is a senior, hands-on role with real ownership: you will define how Komprise gets deployed at scale, serve as the technical authority on complex infrastructure challenges, and set the quality bar for the entire implementation team.

You will own the deployment playbook from initial discovery through production handoff, build automation frameworks, and work cross-functionally with Sales, Support, Product, and Engineering to ensure customers realize value quickly. If you think in systems, build for repeatability, and lead from the front, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy
• Own and continuously evolve the end-to-end deployment methodology, from initial discovery through production sign-off and handoff to Support.
• Lead and mentor a team of Implementation Engineers, setting technical standards through architecture reviews, deployment script reviews, and structured coaching.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex, high-stakes deployments involving multi-petabyte environments, multi-site architectures, or compliance-sensitive configurations.
• Define and track deployment KPIs including time-to-go-live, first-deployment success rate, CSAT, and post-deployment ticket volume.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success leadership to forecast deployment capacity, manage pipeline, and align on customer timelines.
• Present deployment readiness reviews and post-implementation reports to internal stakeholders and customer executives.

Technical Execution
• Architect deployment plans for the most complex customer environments: multi-vendor NAS (NetApp, Dell EMC, VAST Data, Qumulo), hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud configurations.
• Lead hands-on deployment of Komprise Directors, Observers, and Proxies across enterprise on-premises and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Troubleshoot and resolve the hardest deployment blockers involving Linux, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, firewalls), NFS/SMB protocols, Active Directory, Kerberos, and permission models.
• Validate deployment quality through structured testing: data integrity checks, performance benchmarking, failover validation, and security compliance verification.

Process & Enablement
• Build and maintain the deployment knowledge base: implementation runbooks, environment-specific playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and architecture reference diagrams.
• Develop and deliver training programs for Implementation Engineers, Support Engineers, and customer IT teams on Komprise deployment best practices.
• Establish a structured handoff process between Sales Engineering, Implementation, and Technical Support to eliminate gaps and ensure continuity.
• Drive continuous improvement through deployment retrospectives, failure pattern analysis, and systematic corrective action.
• Capture and relay field insights to Product Management and Engineering to reduce deployment friction and influence the product roadmap.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in implementation, professional services, solutions engineering, or deployment-focused roles with enterprise software or SaaS platforms.
• Coaching: 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams in a deployment, professional services, or field engineering capacity.
• Technical: Deep expertise in enterprise storage: NAS (NetApp ONTAP, Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale, VAST Data, Qumulo), object storage (S3-compatible), and cloud storage services (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Cloud Storage).
• Other Skills: Advanced Linux system administration and networking skills, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, routing, firewall rules, and load balancers.
• Strong hands-on experience with NFS/SMB protocols, Windows Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos authentication, and multi-domain permission models.
• Planning & Management ability: Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent deployments, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver on timelines.
• Executive-level communication skills: comfortable running technical workshops, whiteboard architecture sessions, and customer steering committee reviews.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus skills/experience
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or other virtualization and hyperconverged platforms.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect
• Prior experience in data migration at scale, data lifecycle management, or tiered storage optimization.
• Exposure to ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
• Experience building or scaling a professional services or implementation practice from an early stage.
